Depot .81

As promised ...
My clanmate Jackson has finished his first map and it's really awesome.
It's called 'Depot' and you can see some preview screenshots in BF1942/missions.
All I had to do is adding vegetation, lighting and shadows and COOP support.
Really well done for his first time.

There are 3 more maps from Jackson to be revised but it's not a lot to do. So release will be soon.

EoD 0.81 is near

The work on 0.81 is coming to an end and relase will be soon.
We'll have some bugfixes, gameplay improvements, 2-3 overworked and 3-4 brandnew maps.

EoD 0.81 Preview

Here's another preview of the german mapping factory

The map (W.I.P. !) is called -My Son- and shows a fictitious remake of the really existing temple ruins of My Son in Vietnam.
The quantity of vegetation causes some lag atm but I hope this will be fixed soon.

Also there are some screenshots of a fictitious My Hoi map (during war in vietnam formerly known as My Lai) in our forums.

IMPORTANT: before installing the new (full) version you'll have to delete any older versions of EoD manually !

Eve of Destruction 0.80 Server release

EoD classic v.80 serverfiles have been released.
Client files will follow as soon as the upload is finished !

Serveradmins can download the new server version at Filefront.

Before you install the new version please delete any older version of EoD !

Another WIP

We'll have a short delay with 0.80 so the release will not be finished this month.

All vehicles have been re-coded and tons of networkables have been added.
All sounds (yes it's true!) have been fixed and are available in 11, 22 and 44 khz now.
All maps have been checked with debugger to fix every critical bug.
All maps have been checked for wrong pathfindings to get the AI work better.

Two vehicles that have been released in conquest but not in COOP mode will work now:
the M109 (US)


and the BMP-1 (NVA)


Cause the vehicles have been fixed and got new AI code the bots will use every car, plane, heli and weapon now so you'll see a brandnew EoD-AI in 0.80. And I think the changelogfile will have about 1 MB

Release will be in january if everything works fine with the beta tests.

EoD 0.72 patch released

Another patchday soldiers !
EoD 0.72 is coming with some brandnew stuff, improved AI code and new maps.
It's a patch file so you need EoD 0.70 or EoD 0.71 before installing EoD 0.72 !

If you get trouble this maybe because older versions before 0.7x have not been deleted correctly.

To get a clean install point to your
C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 1942\Mods\
folder and delete EoD manually. Then install EoD 0.70 (part 1+2). After that patch to 0.72.

0.72 WIP

Here's a small preview of 0.72. The B-52 was totaly rebuild (thx to Zefan !) and new models for the grenades and PPSH gun have been added.

Right now I'm working on the code of the helicopters and hope they'll fly a little bit better soon

AI code was improved too. For example bots use K63-rockets now.

Five maps with lag issue have been fixed and 2 new maps will be added.

Release maybe in October

You can see a B-52 flying high in a new map called Rolling Thunder.
Yes you heard it right ! The B-52 will be released some day for EoD-classic

EoD - Battlefield 1942 v0.71 Patch

This is a small patch for clients (30 MB) and Linux servers (1 MB) to fix a servercrash issue on Bridge Ruin.
The fun-map Jocoseness has been overworked. New jeeps and new physics have been added.

For those of you who still play EoD for 1942. Today we are proud to annouce that Dev Team Member, Lotte, has completed his patch for EoD for Battlefield 1942. This bring EoD 1942 up to version .70
